Lent & Easter

Special Services for Ash Wednesday, Lenten Soup Suppers, and the Holy Weekend

Why We Celebrate

Lent is a season of preparation for the great feast of Easter. Historically it was a time of preparation for baptisms and the reconciliation of members who had fallen away from the Church. Today, Lent provides us a time each year to let go of something (fast) in order to make more space for Christ in our lives. The 40 days of Lent are modeled on Jesus' time in the wilderness.
